Citizen-funded campaigns

Controlling campaign finance

Allow people to direct a small portion of their tax dollars to the candidates that they support. Require those accepting money to not accept money from non-voters and otherwise abide by restrictions. Pushes candidates to 'sell themselves' to voters and gain their personal support, not just win using outside money. Companies pay good money for recruitment of important talent.

--shifts it to arrears/after filing

-Highlight those who agree in voter's pamplhet [and maybe on the ballot]

-Does not require people to give up their own money

-via state Web site or postcards

-can be profitable if it gets reps who save money

-is it enough funding?

campaign finance reform

-give everybody $100 fund/front load tax credit
